Assessments & Drug Screening

Substance Abuse Assessment
An assessment takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and is designed to examine the nature and extent of a person’s alcohol or other drug use as well as evaluate the possible impact of use in a variety of areas (e.g., social, occupational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and emotional). At the end of the assessment, the therapist will provide a comprehensive written evaluation, which includes clinical and diagnostic impressions and recommendations and referrals for appropriate services.

Screening/Assess and Place
The screening interview is typically completed in one 50-minute session with a therapist. The goal of the screening is to better understand a person’s substance use patterns and determine what type of service would best meet his or her needs. A written summary report is provided and includes referrals for appropriate services as needed. When a student is referred for a screening, a parent or guardian is generally required to participate.

Driver’s License Evaluation with Drug Screen
KBA has an excellent and long-standing reputation for completing professional and thorough driver’s license evaluations. In addition to conducting the evaluation in accordance with state standards, our licensed assessors also provide support and feedback to reduce anxiety and assist people in understanding all aspects of the evaluation and hearing process. As required by the Michigan Department of Secretary of State, the evaluation also includes a 12-panel urine drug screen with integrity variables.

Intensive Substance Abuse Assessment
The intensive assessment includes interviewing, standardized testing, data collection, drug and alcohol testing, and collateral interviews to gain additional perspectives and validate information reported by the individual. This intensive assessment is often helpful in evaluating the extent of a person’s substance abuse problem in custody cases. Upon completion of all the assessment components, a thorough written assessment with impressions and recommendations is created.

Urine Drug Testing
KBA has partnered with one of the most reputable toxicology labs in the country to provide secure, on-site collection. Lab results are verified by a licensed toxicologist and include integrity variables. KBA offers one-time testing or scheduled random testing.
